This little iced-tea is the perfect refreshing drink for a warm summer day.
It was the welcome drink for a yoga retreat in southern Spain I’ ve catered with my friend. It was served with an amazingly fragrant giant jasmine flower on a champagne glass for added elegance! So heavenly, just imagine smelling the aroma of the jasmine with each sip. In aromatherapy, jasmine is used for its aphrodisiac and mood-boosting property!
It is full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, in the form of catechins, curcuminoid, vitamin C and ginger, leaving you feeling refreshed and nourished in style 🙂 Furthermore, it has some blood sugar balancing benefits with the addition of cinnamon and cardamon, helping you to feel satisfied without the need to reach for a sugar fix.
For the recipe you’ll need:
- 1tsp of turmeric
- 1 tsp of ginger
- 1tsp of cinnamon
- 2 cardamon pods
- 1/4 tsp of black pepper ( potentiating greatly the absorption of turmeric )
- 1 green tea sachet
- the juice of one lime
- optional honey
Now what?
- In a pan boil 600ml of water and your spices, simmer gently for 10 mn.
- Remove the pan from the heat and add your green tea, let it infuse for 5mn
- strain the mixture
- Add the lime juice
- Add optional honey to taste
- Serve very chilled
Sit back and relax x
